Remote working rethought

For NeuroForge working remotely has been a core principle from the beginning. The goal was to create a company that offered many benefits. Working remotely not only has benefits such as a non-linear workday or the ability to work anywhere in the world, but also has environmental benefits. No one has to commute and time is saved by not having to drive to work.

During the pandemic, most companies had difficulties to solve the office problem. But NeuroForge continued to work and even grew. By 2021, our first business student from Zurich had started working in Switzerland, followed by our marketing manager from Lviv in Ukraine. NeuroForge now has employees from all over the world, from Germany to the Czech Republic, Ukraine and Brazil. The cultural exchange within the team brings many benefits, such as different perspectives and international influences that can always be taken into account.

That's why we decided almost two years ago to rethink the digital office with the Workadventure software:

Workadventure is a web-based collaborative workspace presented in the form of a 16-bit video game.

In WorkAdventure, you can move around your office and talk to your colleagues (via a video chat system that is triggered when you approach someone).

One of the main advantages of working remotely with Workadventure is the flexibility it offers. You can work from home and have the freedom to set your own schedule. This can lead to a better work-life balance and increased productivity. In addition, the sense of isolation often associated with remote working is reduced by the ability to communicate with colleagues in real time.

NeuroForge has also built a completely new office within Workadventure, with more space and group rooms to bring everyone together. This gives the team the feel of a real office where they can easily hold meetings, brainstorming sessions and team building activities. This feature of Workadventure allows remote workers to have the best of both worlds, the flexibility and convenience of working from home and the collaborative and social benefits of working in the office.

Here an excerpt of our office:

This is the entrance to our office. To the left we have a large office area with private workstations. This is where people have important meetings or work where they do not need to be disturbed. On the right we have our bathrooms and cloakroom. This picture shows our occupied offices and meeting rooms. People are working on their own projects and have the possibility to talk to each other and discuss plans and solutions. In our meeting rooms we meet with each other with more people.

Every day at 12 o'clock, our garden gives us the opportunity to take a break or get together for a meeting. Here we share information about our projects and give everyone a quick overview of their work.

In summary, Workadventure allows remote workers to have the best of both worlds: the flexibility and convenience of working from home and the collaborative and social benefits of working in the office. It is the perfect tool for remote workers who want to be productive and stay connected to their team. What's more, Workadventure doesn't stop people from meeting face to face. For our Christmas Party , all of us came to Bayreuth as far as possible to have a wonderful cooking class together.
