What is elephant racing and who is behind it?

In order to establish the racing project Formula Student also at the University of Bayreuth and to give technology-enthusiastic students the opportunity to continue their education beyond their studies, the non-profit association Elefant Racing e.V. was founded on March 10, 2004.
As an annual student "StartUp", new enthusiastic students continue the project every year and independently develop a formula racing car, accompanied by a lot of motivation, commitment and huge learning success.
The association tries to offer and financially support e.g. project, bachelor and master theses in cooperation with different chairs within this project. In this way, the quality of engineering and business science education is to be improved and become more practice-oriented with regard to the requirements of the labor market.

Recently, "driverless racing / autonomous driving" has also become the theme of Formula Student and the individual teams work hard every year to get the now also best (fastest) driverless car on the road with the help of AI, BigData and sensor technology.
